Tamiya 1/35 British Military Chieftain MK5 Tank with Figures (Unassembled Plastic Kit)
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit depicting the 1970 Mk.5 variant of the Chieftain tank. From the 120mm gun to the shape of the hull and turret, this heavyweight is recreated with aplomb. Features depictions of the complex suspension, armour plates and more. Hatches can be opened, and side skirts attached or detached at will. Comes with three torso figures.
First announced in 1970, the Mk. 5 was the main type of Mk. in service in the mid 1970s. Further engine modifications brought the power output up to 750bph, with consequent improvement in overall performance. Soon, revision of the ammunition stowage arrangements enabled 64 rounds to be stowed. Splash plates were added on the glacis as well.
Tamiya has a reputation for detail and accuracy and this series is a perfect example of this. The Tamiya designers work from measurements and thousands of picture references of the full sizes vehicles, including every detail and facet, to produce the most detailed models in this scale in the world. The quality of these models is such that many museums around the world use the Tamiya 1/35 Military Miniature Series to depict history to the visiting public.
As with all Tamiya items, instructions are clear and concise, in order to allow the modeller to build a detailed model with relative ease.
